COVID-19 client and bankruptcy related announcements and things to watch for.

Update from Attorney Chris Bush of Debt Doc

I hope that you are safe and healthy and remain so throughout this national crisis.

At this time I am working from home and I remain reachable via phone or text at (619) 678-1134 or via email at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

I will be happy to answer calls about any questions, but I ask first that you check my post at I will keep that page updated as much as possible with news updates and frequently asked questions.

I can arrange for phone and video conferences for new and existing clients.

You can make retainer payments online. Please email or text me for a payment link.

If you are experiencing additional financial hardship related to the COVID-19 emergency and need to make financial arrangements please contact me right away.

I am constantly monitoring legal developments related to the emergency that are important to consumers, borrowers, homeowners, and small businesses. If you have questions or need information please contact me and I will try to find answers for you.

If you are unable to make your mortgage payment or pay other debts please contact me so we can discuss options and alternative strategies. I can’t help you unless and until you contact me.

If you are in Chapter 13 Bankruptcy and are unable to make a Chapter 13 Payment, please contact me ASAP so we can discuss options and alternative strategies. Working preemptively with the Chapter 13 Trustee and the Court regarding payments will help avoid unnecessary Motions to Dismiss.

For our clients in Chapter 13 Bankruptcy and all other clients: the COVID-19 emergency has not changed deadlines for filing Federal tax returns, but the IRS has extended the deadline to pay any taxes owed. California has extended the deadline for filing tax returns; please confirm the filing deadline with the California Franchise Tax Board.

Please take care of yourself, your family, your friends, and your neighbors; and stay safe and healthy.

Best regards,

Christopher R. Bush
